Faith Journey:
Testimony
Before I became a believer, my life revolved around my group of friends. We were constantly
drinking and often involved in wrong activities. Because of my strong attachment to them, I
neglected my family and had almost no time for them. Whenever my friends invited me, I could
not say no. My life followed the same pattern again and again-going out, drinking, and coming
home drunk. I had no clear plans or vision for my family; I was content as long as I saw that they
had food to eat each day. Deep inside, my life had no real purpose or direction.
Everything changed when I came to know the Lord. One day, someone preached the Word of
God to me. As I listened, I was deeply convicted and came to my senses. For the first time,
realized the condition of my life and how far I had gone from God's will. In that moment, my
heart was opened to the truth, and I knew that I needed the Lord.
From that moment on, I stopped drinking and gradually distanced myself from my old friends,
until I completely left my former way of life. Instead of joining them in wrongdoing, God placed
in my heart the desire to lead them toward good deeds and the right path. The Lord began to
change me from the inside out-transforming my mindset, my priorities, and the way I lived my
life.
Today, by the grace of God, I have more time for my family. I realized how much time I had wasted
in the past-time I had given to my friends instead of to my family. I am deeply thankful to my
family for not giving up on me. Even now, we continue to serve the Lord together, growing in
faith and walking in His ways.
When did you accept the Lord?
