Frequently Asked Questions
Cost Breakdown:
The cost of a TMI Ministry Experience is $3,800 CAD, which is all-inclusive while in-country. This includes your meals, lodging, in-country transportation, and all ministry-related experiences.
We desire for finances to never be a barrier to obedience, so we encourage each participant to prayerfully consider inviting others into this journey through support raising. The full amount of your Experience is tax-deductible through our trusted partner, the Great Commission Foundation, allowing others to invest meaningfully in what God is doing through you.
Where will we stay?
-
While in Manila, the team will stay at the Go Hotel in Quezon City, providing a comfortable space to rest and prepare for ministry.
-
In Mindoro, our accommodations shift to a more immersive and simple experience. We will stay at our TMI Base Camp in Brgy. Casague, Sta. Cruz, sleeping in a local church setting or traditional nipa huts.
-
As part of the heart of TMI, we will also spend one night living within a tribal community. This is often a deeply impactful time—sharing life, meals, and fellowship with the people we are called to serve
What is the minimum age to apply?
Participants must be 17 years or older at the time of the trip. We believe this Experience requires a level of spiritual and personal maturity, as well as a willingness to serve, adapt, and engage cross-culturally.
Do I need a passport or visa?
Yes, you will need a valid passport that is current for at least 6 months beyond your return date.
A visa is not required for Canadian travelers entering the Philippines for the duration of this trip.
Do I need special vaccinations?
We do recommend that each participant visit a travel clinic or doctor prior to departure. While TMI does not prescribe specific vaccinations, a medical professional can guide you based on current recommendations and your personal health history.
Is it safe?
Yes. At TMI, we take the safety and well-being of our team very seriously. We work closely with trusted local leaders and long-standing ministry partners, and every aspect of the trip is thoughtfully planned.
While international ministry always carries a level of unknown, we approach each Experience with prayerful preparation, wisdom, and accountability, trusting the Lord while stewarding safety responsibly.
What is the weather like?
The Philippines is hot and humid, especially during the time of our trip. Participants should come prepared with lightweight, breathable clothing, while also dressing modestly and respectfully in accordance with the local culture and ministry settings.
