For the first time, LBB volunteers and TMI students climbed Mt. Katikong together. On the mountainside, they found a group of Alangan Mangyan people living together in a large, wall-less hut called a "Banua."
After eighteen months of prayer and preparation, the chief agreed to let LBB minister to his tribe. For a long time, tribal leaders hadn't allowed any preaching of the Good News inside the 'Banua'.
On June 29, 2025, Sunday, a historic event took place on Mt. Katikong - the whole team started the first worship service, and the name of Lord Jesus was freely preached inside the Banua! Hallelujah!!!
That day, the Alangan Mangyan tribe, including their leaders, recognized Jesus as Lord and Savior.
The next day, our group returned to the base camp, filled with praise and gratitude to God for the success of our mission. The 20-kilometer journey back took 13 hours of walking, but it was worth it.
SOLI DEO GLORIA!"

(Banua: In some indigenous cultures in the Philippines, particularly among the Mangyan people, a "Banua" refers to a traditional communal house or a gathering place. It's often a large, open structure where community members come together to socialize, hold ceremonies, or conduct community activities.)
